Journeys

Today at Stories in the Shade I shared "Henry Hikes to Fitchburg" by D.B. Johnson. In the book, "Henry" is a bear, but in actuality he is the representation of the classic live-in-the-moment guy, Henry David Thoreau. Henry takes a long walk to the country enjoying himself along the way while his friend performs chores for neighbors (Mrs. Alcott, Mr. Emerson) to earn money for train fare. Ultimately they arrive at the same destination, having had very different journeys. A good book for discussion, as well as a fun story.

  1. Hi Patty!
Rest assured that someone is reading your blog b/c this book and the 'sequel' went out this morning!
